My name is Rachel Bernabe. I am 19 years old, studying a BA in Communications in Public Relations and BA in Event and Tourism Management, and I work part-time at a local market. I am a member of CFC Youth for Christ.
I am also the ACT’s ANCOP ‘Ambassador’! ANCOP is the acronym for “Answering the Cry of the Poor”. ANCOP is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation who help the poor through Education Sponsorship, Community Development and Calamity Relief. Its main areas of mission include Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and Solomon Islands.
I am participating in the Canberra Running Festival 2018 to raise awareness for ANCOP and to raise funds for its work. More info about ANCOP and its work can be found in http://www.cfcancop.org/.
I am not really a runner but in the next few weeks I will continue training for this event. I am happy and eager to put myself in this test because I strongly believe in ANCOP and its mission. Each of us has something to give, whether it’s time, talent, or treasure. Whatever gifts we have been given -- large or small -- we should share generously. When we do, we make the world better for someone else and find true meaning and satisfaction in our own lives.
I am so blessed that I haven't experienced the hardships that many suffer through daily and I really want to give back for all those blessings I have received. Here is a chance for you to help me, but more importantly, to help the poor. Together, let’s help open the door to a brighter future for poor children and families.
I invite you to open your heart by clicking the 'Give Now' button. Any amount donation is welcome. Don’t feel that your act of kindness is just a drop in the ocean. Mother Teresa once said “But if the drop was not in the ocean, I think the ocean would be less because of the missing drop”.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
